Zachary Desmond, Executive Administrator
Zach Desmond began working with Alternative Home Health Care in 2013. In his role as Executive Administrator, Zach is responsible for the overall direction of the organization and high level strategy that aligns with the company’s mission, vision, and values.
Zach brings to Alternative 10 years of healthcare operations, sales, and “turn around” experience; having led multiple home health care locations across five states to profitability and sustainability. His history of improving customer service and operational efficiencies along with bottom line profitability has earned him awards and recognition a top performer. Zach realized early on in his career that he felt a true connection to caring for those who need help and ensuring they received the highest quality of care available.
Zach received his Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Zach resides in Fort Lauderdale with his wife, three dogs, one cat and stays very involved in his local community.

When my wife, Carla Albano, and I were thinking about leaving our corporate jobs to start our own company, we explicitly discussed the type of company we wanted. We discussed as much about the ‘company culture’ we wanted as well as the type of business we wanted to start. With Carla’s legal background in healthcare and my experience with management, the home health care business was a natural fit for us.
Our work experiences have included working for many large corporations. I once served as a corporate officer and President of a publicly traded company. We each enjoyed our work; however there were always certain aspects of those jobs and companies that rubbed us the wrong way.
There were situations which often conflicted with our own principles, and circumstances which were difficult to live with. We felt that if we ever got the chance to own our own company it would be a company that would be driven by the values that are most important to us. We often dreamed of a happy work environment and success built upon mutual respect and forthrightness.
Lastly, we did not ever want to compromise our values regardless of the consequences. Fortunately, two decades later, we have proven that is possible in today’s business environment.
We knew we would develop a company that valued and respected our clients. But, even more important we also wanted a company that valued and respected the people who choose to come to work with us. To me our most valuable resource is our staff. They are my customers. If they are not happy, there is no way that our clients will be happy. This has been the formula that has driven our company from day one.
