Alternative Home Healthcare Ranked as a Top Workplace
by South Florida Sun Sentinel
We are thrilled to announce that the Sun Sentinel has named us a Top Workplace among large employers in South Florida. The award is particularly special as it was based on the tremendous feedback from our employees — a true testament to our commitment to our caregivers.
After enjoying the Sun Sentinel’s award presentation luncheon on April 28, we all were especially excited to see Keisha Williams, our client services supervisor, featured in the newspaper the following day.
When asked what it means to work at a Top Workplace, Keisha said, “Working here is not just a job. You get a chance to make a difference in people’s lives every day, many times. AHHC cares. They live up to their mission. They are family.”
Since our founding 20 years ago, our goal has always been to provide the best care possible for our clients and their families. We believe this begins with treating our employees fairly and creating an environment that fosters success.
All our caregivers and staff are eligible for health insurance, overtime pay and retirement benefits. As direct employees of our company, our caregivers also are bonded and insured with professional liability and workers’ compensation insurance.
Unlike other home health care agencies, we did not convert our employees to independent contractors and avoid offering paying them fairly when new, federal overtime and minimum wage regulations went into effect last year. We value our caregivers and firmly believe they deserve to earn a livable wage.
Happy caregivers are the key to happy clients! We appreciate all our employees for their dedication and service to our clients, and pledge to continue making Alternative Home Health Care a top place to work!
