FAQs
In Florida there are two primary types of companies providing home care; licensed Home Health Agencies, and Nurse Registries. For further information visit our Web page, choosing a Home Health Care Provider. Each of our offices is licensed, through Florida’s Agency for Healthcare Administration, https://www.floridahealthfinder.gov/index.html.
An hourly assignment can be whatever is requested by the client; for example 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, 10:00 am to 2:00 pm or even 8:00 am – 10:00 am. We can configure assignments to meet any need. However, sometimes a client needs someone with them all day and night. This is called a “Live-in” assignment. The aide actually stays in the client’s home and sleeps in the evening. The aide will get up at night to look in on the client or to assist with trips to the bathroom.
In order to provide Live-in care, there must be a place for the aide to sleep and the client cannot get up too many times during the night.
(If the client does not sleep through the night and requires constant supervision, then it is necessary to provide 24 hour shift coverage which is typically done with two 12 hour shifts).
For the answer used the attached PDF document named: Employees vs. Independent Contractors.
In two ways, through telephone client satisfaction surveys, and through written anonymous surveys.
The state of Florida requires that clients sign several forms or contracts. Our contracts do not obligate you to receive care for any period of time, nor do we ever require a deposit.
Our employees are insured for workers compensation, unemployment, liability, and they are bonded for acts of dishonesty.
All of our employees are licensed and insured which covers the event of any injury in the client’s home.
Although we are confident that you will be pleased with our services, in the event that you are not happy with one of our aides you have the option to request another aide to provide services for you.
We use an electronic visit duration system for our employees. It promotes on-time reliability and assures accurate tracking of hours worked for automation of our billing and payroll processes.
